About Dixie Cleaners

Our Story

Dixie Cleaners was founded in 1945 by Robert "Wyman" Hutto, a World War II Purple Heart recipient, after returning home with a clear vision of providing dependable garment care to the local community. That vision took shape right here in Holly Hill, South Carolina, establishing a business built from the ground up on honesty, hard work, integrity, and genuine customer care. We have spent decades protecting that legacy by focusing on doing things right the first time, ensuring our neighbors always have a service they can count on.

As the business grew, so did its ability to deliver the highest standards of clothing care. In 1970, Dixie Cleaners expanded into its current full-service retail storefront and advanced cleaning plant on the corner of Gardner Boulevard and Peak Street. This expansion strengthened our ability to provide premium garment care under a strictly monitored processing system, maintaining the precise quality and consistency that our clients have come to expect.

A Legacy Of Growth And Continuous Improvement

In 1985, Wyman passed the torch to his stepson Robert and Mary Mims, who proudly carried on his legacy with the same dedication, care, and customer-first approach for decades.

In 2019, Dixie Cleaners entered a modern new chapter under the leadership of Nick and Raj Patel. With years of deep experience in customer service and business operations, they have invested heavily in modern, cutting-edge equipment, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced customer convenience. 

While driving forward with technological innovation, they remain firmly anchored to the company's long-standing values of quality garment care and reliability. Each chapter of Dixie Cleaners reflects the same goal: continually improving the customer experience while delivering professional garment care that customers can trust completely.
